Member Protection

Your rights at Fremantle Surf Life Saving Club

FMSLSC is committed to ensuring fairness and safeguarding the health, safety and wellbeing of all our members, and to ensuring that our club provides a safe and enjoyable environment for all members engaging in surf lifesaving activities and club events. How we do this is outlined in the SLSA Member Protection Policy.

The SLSA Member Protection Policy aims to ensure that everyone involved in surf lifesaving activities, including activities which involve under-18s, are aware of their rights and obligations. The policy sets out the standards of behaviour expected of everyone involved in surf lifesaving activities and the behaviours that are not acceptable.

By following the Member Protection Code of Conduct, we aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for all our members. Our Club has two Member Protection Information Officers (MPIOs) who actively screen and ensure our volunteers have the appropriate clearances as a means of safeguarding our members.

MPIO’s also play a vital role in providing members with information in relationship to concerns or complaints they may have and seek advice on.

The Club is committed to ensuring that all complaints are responded to sensitively and in a timely in accordance with the procedure.
